What Is the Cyrex BiomeBurden Complete Test?
The Cyrex BiomeBurden Complete test takes a deeper look at how your immune system is responding to certain yeasts, molds, and microorganisms associated with the intestinal environment. Instead of looking only for organisms in a stool sample or culture, this blood test measures IgG and IgA antibody patterns that may indicate immune recognition or activation.
The panel evaluates immune responses associated with several Candida species, Saccharomyces strains, food-derived molds, and selected intestinal pathogens. It also includes less commonly measured markers such as Actin Peptide, Candidalysin, Alpha-Enolase, and Ubiquitin. These markers may provide additional information about microbial exposure, tissue stress, and immune activity that may not appear on routine testing.
Looking at these markers together may help identify patterns worth exploring in people experiencing persistent digestive problems, fatigue, brain fog, skin concerns, sinus symptoms, or recurring infections. Certain markers may reflect immune responses associated with microbial activity, tissue irritation, or cellular stress. For example, antibodies involving Alpha-Enolase or Ubiquitin may suggest increased immune recognition of proteins released or exposed during cellular stress. Neutrophil Activation Factors may offer insight into whether innate immune defenses are being repeatedly stimulated.
Because the panel measures both IgG and IgA antibodies, it provides information about immune activity in different parts of the immune system. These results should be interpreted as patterns of immune recognition. IgA should not automatically be labeled as a “recent” response or IgG as an “old” response without considering the full clinical picture.
The panel also evaluates immune responses to several Candida species individually. This matters because Candida strains do not always interact with the immune system in the same way. Information related to Th1, Th2, Th17, and regulatory T-cell activity may provide a broader view of whether the immune system appears to be leaning toward inflammation, allergic-type reactivity, impaired tolerance, or difficulty regulating microbial exposure.

Selected Biomarkers Included in the BiomeBurden Complete Panel
Candida albicans IgG and IgA – Measures immune recognition of a common yeast that can inhabit the gastrointestinal tract and other mucosal surfaces. Increased immune reactivity or repeated exposure to Candida-related antigens. It does not, by itself, confirm Candida overgrowth or infection.
Food-Derived Molds IgG and IgA – Evaluates immune responses to molds associated with certain foods. Heightened immune recognition of mold antigens. Results should be interpreted with dietary history, symptoms, and possible environmental exposures.
Th1/Th2 Ratio – Provides information about the balance between different immune-response patterns. Th1 activity is generally associated with cellular immune defense, while Th2 activity is more closely associated with antibody and allergic-type responses. A higher ratio may reflect a stronger Th1 pattern. A lower ratio may reflect a stronger Th2 pattern. Neither result is automatically good or bad and must be interpreted in context.
Ubiquitin IgG and IgA – Measures immune recognition involving ubiquitin, a protein associated with normal cellular maintenance and the handling of damaged proteins. Increased immune recognition that may occur alongside cellular stress, tissue irritation, or broader immune activation.
Saccharomyces cerevisiae Glucan IgG and IgA – Evaluates immune responses to components of Saccharomyces, a yeast found in some fermented foods, baking products, supplements, and probiotics. | Heightened immune recognition of Saccharomyces-related antigens. It does not automatically mean fermented foods or probiotics must be avoided.

Antibody results show immune recognition, which can be influenced by exposure, intestinal permeability, immune regulation, and other health factors.
